Father to Son to Son
June 24, 2008 at 12:19 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsYesterday was a pretty cool day. Well actually it was hot! But it became cool because my dad now in his 70’s came over to help me put up a fence around my pool. My oldest Son…soon to be in high school, also was helping. It was great just to hang with my dad, i am hoping my son was thinking the same! After a long day and a refreshing dip in the pool and a spagghetti dinner, Chi and I went to Home Depot, then picked up the new RAMBO movie. Mano y Mano baby! I love my dad and my boys. It was just great to hang out with them.
I now am longing to hang out with my heavenly Father. I know He loves his time with his children too!
In His Hands
June 10, 2008 at 4:21 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentSunday after church, my boys and I got in the van and headed off to the Meadowlands to watch the best soccer team in the world. USA vs. Argentina. I am a HUGE Argentina fan. Soccer fans are a bit extreme in showing their colors! It is very clear who you choose to side with.
At the start of the game the players come out in a ceremonial line up. The STARS on the main pitch walk hand in hand with a young lad about 7-10 years old….HAND in HAND. I said to my boys, wouldn’t it be cool to be the kid holding “Messi’s” hand. (For those of you ‘non-soccer’ people….He is arguably one of the world’s best players.). My boys and I talked…yeah…that kid will never forget that moment.
Last night I was thinking. I AM God’s child. He is holding my right hand and He has promised that once I choose to be his child that no one will be able to pluck me from His hand. What a cool thought. The King of Kings is holding my hand. That is way cool!
Isaiah 41:13 ”For I am the Lord your God, who is holding your right hand, saying unto you, Fear Not, I will help you.”
GIVE IT UP
June 5, 2008 at 3:15 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentThrough God, we receive many things – our talents, finances, opportunities, possessions – and in return, He asks that we give back only a portion. It is through this commitment that we enable more hearts to be reached, more lives to be changed, more souls to be stirred, more families to be brought together and more hope to be shared. With Him, there is as much receiving as there is giving. And we are thankful for the resources with which we are entrusted through his faithful provision to each of you.
Come this week and let’s grow together as we GIVE IT UP for GOD!
REST and PRAY
June 5, 2008 at 11:06 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentToo often when we are SO busy and have SO much on our plates, when the stack is SO high on my desk that I don’t know where to begin, I am driven to dive in and get at it.
Yesterday our Staff decided to go on a mini retreat. We went to the Camp at Old Mill. There we prayed, rested from the ‘normal’ rat race and asked God to give us His vision for the NEXT step in the journey that he has marked for us.
After all…that is what Jesus did. There were SO many people who needed to be healed, So many people who needed their sins forgiven, So many people that neede His attention, yet Jesus always created MARGIN in his life to spend with His Father…to Rest and Pray. Why not take a day….Rest and Pray…Today!
