“Life Takes a Bit of Time and a Whole Lot of Relationship”
July 22, 2008 at 12:16 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentMost “BITS” of my time are spent trying to accomplish the ’stuff” of life. I do and I do, I try to succeed. I seek to win the prize. I pursue excellence and am always seeking to check off my things to do. At the end of the day when my list is done, there is a part of me that pumps my fist and screams, YES! But the truth is there is an equal part of me that still feels empy and incomplete.
So often I focus on the ‘tasks’ of life and blow through the people that God has placed in my path to serve or minister to. I am learing the value of valueing people. The tasks are menial compared to the eternal value of a living soul.
I think I will be spending more time on Relationships and a bit less time on the temporal!
How is your Relationship with your God? With your wife/husband? With your neighbor, workmate or teamate?
Only two things last forever the Word of God and People.
What I LOVE about the SHORE
July 8, 2008 at 11:41 am | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsJust finishing up my last day down at the shore…well…at least for this time! These are the things I love about the shore!
1. It’s quiet, serene and peaceful.
2. It seems like everyone is concerned with physical fitness…(everyone but me).
3. I get to read….A LOT!
4. I get great seafood!
5. I get to spend time with my family. They are all growing up too quickly.
6. No agenda!
7. Time ALONE with God!
koreans.crowder.community.CHRIST
July 3, 2008 at 11:15 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentI just got back from JAMA Conference. 4,000 people. 3,999 koreans and ME. (a bit of an exaggeration but not much). What a joy to be in the presence of these dear brothers and sisters in Christ. They are seriously excited about Jesus. They know how to worship…let’s face it…David Crowder! Of the 4,000 I would say 3,000 were teenagers or college age. What blew me away was their hunger for the Word of God. This community of believers sat for hours listening to some great Korean preachers but then also from Jim Cymbala, John Piper and Francis Chan.
The COOLEST thing: The entire focus was on the “Centrality of CHRIST.” After all it is all about Him!
So, was I the minority? Maybe in the world’s viewpoint…but it’s not about me! The focus of life is not on me…It is totally on Christ! I want Jesus to be the Center of my Life! Is He the focus of your life?
