“LIGHT” Has Dawned

As we come upon that glorious day of Christmas I cannot stop thinking about Jesus, the light of the World. Matthew 4 is very clear. The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, Light has dawned.
Light has dawned! Jesus has come! He was walking among them. I wonder if those people in Galilee had any idea what was happening the day Jesus walked into town. Did they know that the Light had come? Those three little words, “light has dawned” brings incredible hope. Not that hope was ever lost, but it’s a great reminder when the ‘day’ is short of light, and the times and circumstances of life seem bleak. The glorious Light Has Dawned! Thanks Jesus!
It reminds me of the great Michael Card song, Immanuel, God Is With Us!
A sign shall be given, A virgin will conceive, A human baby bearing
Undiminished deity. The glory of the nations, A light for all to see,
A hope for all who will embrace, His warm reality
Immanuel, Our God is with us, And if God is with us, Who could stand against us, Our God is with us, Immanuel.
For all those who live in the shadow of death, A glorious light has dawned, For all those who stumble in the darkness, Behold your light has come.
So what will be your answer? Will you hear the call? Of Him who did not spare His son, But gave him for us all, On earth there is no power,
There is no depth or height, That could ever separate us, From the love of God in Christ.
Immanuel, Our God is with us, And if God is with us, Who could stand against us, Our God is with us, Immanuel.
Bibles and Cell Phones
December 17, 2008 at 12:12 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 4 CommentsIt’s time to start thinking through the lessons learned this year and the goals and dreams in store for 2009. In about 13 days I will have read through the Bible. I plan to do it again. It has been life changing for me and I know it will be for you to. Will you read through the Bible with me? It’s not too late. Purchase yours by hitting the link below. Here is the One Year Bible I will be using.
Cell Phones and Bibles
Have you ever wondered: “what would happen if we treated our Bibles like we treat our cell phones?”
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several time a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
Where is your Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phones, we don’t have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.
And no dropped calls!
